Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV)

A battery electric vehicle, or BEV, is a type of fully electric vehicle that runs exclusively on energy stored in a rechargeable battery.

Unlike hybrid or plug-in hybrid vehicles, it has no combustion engine or fuel tank. The electrical energy stored in the battery powers one or more electric motors, enabling the vehicle to move. BEVs are recharged via a charging station or electrical outlet, at home, at work or at public stations. This type of vehicle is particularly recognised for its low emissions during use, quiet operation and reduced maintenance costs.

It plays a central role in the transition to more sustainable mobility, particularly in commercial fleets and the transport of goods or passengers.
