LV General Distribution Board (LV GDB) / Main Low Voltage Switchboard (MLVS)

It centralises the supply of electricity from the public grid or an internal source (such as a transformer) and distributes it to secondary circuits (lighting, heating, industrial equipment, charging stations, etc.).

As the heart of the low-voltage electrical system, the main low-voltage switchboard plays an essential role in protecting, controlling and securing the power supply.

It comprises various components such as circuit breakers, contactors, protection relays and measurement systems, enabling power distribution to be controlled and action to be taken in the event of overload or fault.

In the context of electric vehicle charging infrastructure, the main low-voltage switchboard enables the charging points to be integrated into the site’s electrical system, the available power to be managed and compliance with current safety standards to be ensured.
