The integration of renewable energies into electric charging infrastructure is a key lever for truly carbon-free mobility. Unlike fossil fuels, renewable sources : solar, wind, hydro or biomass – generate electricity without emitting greenhouse gases.
When used to power charging stations, they reduce the carbon footprint of electric vehicles throughout their entire life cycle. This synergy is particularly relevant in fast charging stations or hubs where photovoltaic panels can produce part of the energy consumed. It can also be accompanied by stationary storage devices to compensate for the intermittency of certain sources.
In the case of publicly accessible charging stations, the use of renewable energy also makes it possible to increase the station’s revenue through the generation of TIRUERT certificates.
