To mark its 20th anniversary, Transports Derocq invests in a CHARGEPOLY ultra-rapid charging station

As part of its decarbonisation strategy and to support its industrial customers, Vendée-based haulier Transports Derocq has installed an ultra-rapid electric charging station engineered by CHARGEPOLY. The move towards electrification comes exactly 20 years after the creation of the family business.

Some entrepreneurial journeys are built on determination and hard work. Such is the story of Damien Derocq, who founded Transports Derocq in 2004 in Montaigu-Vendée. For the first five years, he personally delivered goods across the region. In 2015, he took a decisive step by acquiring Transports Revelaud, giving his business national reach. Five years later, another acquisition, Transports Soulard, enabled the company to expand into the construction sector.

Today, two decades after its creation, Transports Derocq employs 80 staff and operates a fleet of nearly 70 Euro 6-compliant trucks, serving leading industrial clients in joinery, agri-food, and construction. The company manages a 4,000 m² logistics warehouse at its headquarters and is currently building a second 3,000 m² RE2020-compliant facility in Chavagnes-en-Paillers, scheduled for completion in December. The new site will feature 3,000 m² of solar panels, reinforcing the company’s commitment to energy transition.

A clear commitment to fleet electrification

When it comes to greening his fleet, Damien Derocq has chosen electrification:

“After testing other energy sources, electricity appears to me as the most viable solution for the future not only for environmental reasons but also for economic sustainability. The energy transition must factor in costs, which are vital for our sector,” explains Derocq.

The company has already invested in three Renault Trucks electric tractors, delivered in April 2024, and a fourth vehicle from a German manufacturer expected in early 2025. To power these new assets, Derocq installed a CHARGEPOLY ultra-rapid charging station at the end of April. The station features a Power Unit connected to three charging satellites, providing a total output of 200 kW.

The e-trucks are currently deployed on shuttle routes between two production sites and a major logistics hub, covering daily distances of 250, 450, or even 650 km in double-shift operations. After several weeks of use, Damien Derocq says he is “very satisfied with the solution and with CHARGEPOLY’s partnership, particularly their French-made technology, customer focus, and technical expertise.”
