Connector Type 1, Type 2, CCS, CHAdeMO

Type 1, Type 2, CCS, and CHAdeMO connectors are standardized plugs used for Electric Vehicle charging, each with distinct technical specifications and compatibilities.

Type 1 is predominantly used in North America and some Asian countries.

Type 2 is the European standard, offering Alternating Current (AC) charging. CCS (Combined Charging System) is an evolution of Type 2, integrating a Direct Current (DC) plug for rapid charging. Finally, CHAdeMO is a DC rapid charging connector, primarily used in Japan and some other regions for compatible vehicles.

Each system addresses specific charging requirements, depending on the region and vehicle type.

In Canada, Type 1 and CCS Combo 1 are the most common standards for AC and DC charging, respectively.
