Private charging stations are installed at homes or within businesses, allowing authorized users to recharge their Electric Vehicles at home or at their workplace. Access is typically restricted and controlled.
Public charging stations are accessible to all EV drivers and are located in public spaces, such as parking lots, streets, or service stations. They are often connected to networks and require the use of cards or apps for access and payment. Between these two types exists the concept of semi-private or hybrid stations: these infrastructures are located on private sites but may be accessible to certain third parties, for example via reservation or subscription.
They combine the flexibility of public charging stations with the access control and security of private charging stations, offering a suitable solution for businesses, housing developments, or mixed-use sites.
