DITC: Declaration of Intent to Commence Works (France)

The DITC (Déclaration d’Intention de Commencement de Travaux) is a mandatory administrative formality in France before undertaking work near sensitive networks (electrical, gas, water, telecoms, etc.).

This step is part of the “anti-damage” reform, aiming to secure interventions near buried or overhead infrastructure.

This would be analogous to utility search and permit processes in the UK, such as those governed by the New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA), which ensures coordination and safety for works on or near highways and utilities.
