Direct Current (DC) is a type of electric current where the flow’s direction is constant and unidirectional, in contrast to Alternating Current (AC).
It is primarily used to power and recharge Electric Vehicle batteries, as they require a continuous flow of electricity to store energy.
DC is also found in various other electronic devices, such as mobile phones and laptops.
In the context of EV charging, DC fast charging stations enable rapid charging because they deliver higher power directly to the battery, bypassing the vehicle’s onboard converter (charger), unlike AC stations.
